Welcome to Invest Like An Owner. This is the very first post and the start of the portfolio’s holdings.
The starting Implied Share Price is $25 per share, as of today, market open January 2, 2025. This is the total amount of all holdings divided by outstanding shares. My goal is to be as transparent as possible without revealing the exact amount of the portfolio. If there are any deposits or withdrawals of funds in the future, my goal is to keep the share price fair and stable by reducing or adding to the total share count at a “per share” rate consistent with the fair market value of the investments at the time. So, whatever share price is shown will be the most honest and reflective of how the portfolio is actually performing over time.
This portfolio consists of 3 sub-portfolios, which is the reason why there are 3 cash equivalents listed. My philosophy is mostly one of a value investor, so the largest weighted sub-portfolio is dedicated to that strategy. The second sub-portfolio is medium weighted and is dedicated to a growth at a reasonable price (GARP) strategy. Lastly, the third and smallest sub-portfolio is flexible and I give some room for momentum and some educated speculation.
Overall, I would characterize the financial holdings size of the portfolio as “medium but significant.” It is a good portion of my net worth and for that reason, I will give this project very focused attention.

Hi Nick! Thanks for being my first non-spam comment. I am still getting my plan together for this site and I look forward to posting every Monday. I am an individual investor and I’ve learned many lessons over the years. Yes, I do have a process and I look forward to posting more about my process in the future.
I’m just going by the nickname “DJ” on this site because I want the content and research I post to speak for itself. I don’t want any conflicts or anyone to read more into the investments or ideas based on me or who I am. If I associated my name, twitter/X, position, etc., there would be more of a risk of that. So, out of an abundance of caution, I made this decision.
I still plan to be as transparent as possible, even with those limitations.
