"My Subsidiaries"
I treat my investment portfolio as if it's a personal holding company. I consider the various companies, whose stocks I own, to be "my subsidiaries" in my personal holding company.
Although I have 100% control over my personal holding company, I only hold a minority interest in each of "my subsidiaries."
Essentially, I can only control my decisions to buy or sell "my subsidiaries," or adjust the allocations of "my subsidiaries" within my personal holding company, by trimming or adding shares.
