II. Situation
I have a strong cash position and I’m maintaining the highest allocations in JTAI and PETS. I’ve rebalanced the entire portfolio to get it to my perfect comfortability preference. I added to EXE, CELH, and PERI. I sold PINS and added KWEB, for China exposure.
NUS was added. A small position in ORCL was added. LULU was sold and replaced by NKE. I had been watching RAVE for a long time, waiting for it’s price to drop, it did, so I added it. NLCP was also added.
Regarding stock options, I sold some WW International puts because they are undervalued and I would anticipate buying them more of WW anyway, if the price were to drop.
III. Segment Highlight
I did not review any particular segment this quarter.
IV. School
The main lesson I learned this quarter was with strategic and tactical rebalancing. I decided, to establish a target allocation for every company I own. Then give each company a drift band, which is a range that it can fluctuate. Then if the price falls below my target allocation, it would be justifiable for me to tactically rebalance and quickly buy shares to bring my allocation back to the minimum. The market is giving that to me, if my valuation is right. But, when it comes to selling or otherwise buying, I should do a strategic review and make strategic buys or sales to maintain my long-term strategic allocations.
My cash strategy is basically the same. I aim to have 15% cash, but I’m ok with a 5% drift band in each direction. 10 to 20% cash is functional. Below 5% I consider scarce. Over 25% is an abundance. This quarter, after the last rebalance, I am close to an abundance of cash.
